Severe Weather Alerts
Real-time NWS alerts with severity-coded banners, detailed breakdowns, and critical push notifications. Stay safe when it matters most.
Severity-Coded Banners
When a weather alert is active for your location, a color-coded banner appears prominently on the main dashboard. The highest severity alert is shown first — tornado warnings in red, severe thunderstorm warnings in orange, flood warnings in teal. Multiple active alerts show a badge count so you know exactly how many are in effect.
Detailed Alert Views
Tap any alert banner to see the full NWS alert text, including the description, safety instructions, affected areas, and timing. Each alert is categorized by type with a matching icon — tornado, thunderstorm, flood, winter storm, heat, and more.

Push Notifications
Breeze can send critical push notifications for severe weather alerts even when the app is closed. Tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, and other life-threatening alerts are delivered immediately with sound and vibration. You can customize which alert types trigger notifications in Settings.
Foreground Alerts
Even when you're actively using Breeze, alerts appear as native iOS banners at the top of the screen. The app is set up as a notification delegate so you never miss a critical alert, whether the app is in the foreground, background, or not running at all.
Multi-City Alerts
Alerts are tracked for all your saved cities, not just your current location. If a hurricane warning is issued for your parents' city across the country, you'll see it when you swipe to their location. Stay informed about the people and places you care about.
